Accelerated Learning Programs

VA launched a pilot program to provide no-cost accelerated learning programs (ALP) that help transitioning Servicemembers and Veterans quickly and easily gain skills and credentials for high-demand civilian careers — without having to use their GI Bill® benefits.

About ALPs

These programs, which are typically completed in less than six months, are taught online, in the classroom, or through a combination of both formats to accommodate different learning styles.

VA’s pilot program focused on ALPs in information technology.

Applications are no longer being accepted for VA’s ALP pilot.

VA plans to evaluate the pilot and, based on that review, may offer additional ALPs in other high-demand industries.
