Mark M. Bilosz was appointed as Director of the Winston-Salem Regional Benefit Office on July 10, 2016. He is responsible for administering non-medical VA benefits and services to North Carolina Veterans and their families, and Benefits Delivery at Discharge processing for the eastern half of the United States. Prior to this appointment, he was the Acting Director of Compensation Service.
Brian Ward took this position in December 2011. He assists Mr. Mark Bilosz in administering VA benefits and services to Veterans in the local area. Previously, Mr. Ward was Assistant Director for the Atlanta Regional Benefit Office, and served as Acting Director for the San Juan and Huntington Regional Benefit Offices.
Leigh Ann Skeens-Wilson was appointed to this position in January 2013. She assists Mr. Mark Bilosz in operational elements of the Winston-Salem Regional Benefit Office delivery areas. Most recently she was the Deputy Director of VA’s Education Service, administering benefits under the Post 9/11 GI Bill. She also served as Acting Director in several regional offices across the country, to include Reno, Roanoke, and New Orleans.
Carolyn Lightfoot was promoted to this position in June 2008. She oversees the daily operations of the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment division, which has 45 employees who provide rehabilitative services to more than 3,600 Veterans and Servicemembers in North Carolina. Under Ms. Lightfoot’s leadership, the division has received three year-end performance awards.
Kimberley Schillhammer joined the Winston-Salem Regional Benefit Office in October 2016. She previously served as the Veteran Service Center Manager in Providence, Rhode Island and has most recently worked at VA Headquarters supporting the Veterans Benefits Management System program for paperless claims processing.
Lisa Bowman took this position in April 2010. She is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the finance and administrative sections. Prior to joining the Winston-Salem Regional Benefit Office, Ms. Bowman worked for the Veterans Health Administration.
