The Winston-Salem Regional Office continues adherence to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. The CDC recently issued updated guidance on community levels and prevention steps by county. Consistent with that guidance, masks are optional. People with symptoms, a positive test or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should continue to wear a mask.
Veterans may continue to interact with the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) virtually for accessing benefits information online or when filing a claim online. For claim-specific questions call 1-800-827-1000.

This symposium will feature representatives from VBA,VHA and the Minority Veterans of America. The primary focus of this collaborative effort is to focus on outreach and initiatives impacting the LGBTQ+ Veteran community. Veteran Rapid Retraining Assistance Program (VRRAP)
On March 11, 2021, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) launched VRRAP for Veterans who have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Veterans participating in VRRAP can receive education and training for high-demand occupations, which is determined by the Commissioner of Labor Statistics. Veterans will receive up to 12 months of tuition and fees and a monthly housing allowance based on Post-9/11 GI Bill rates. To learn more about VRRAP and how to apply for the program, Veterans can visit www.va.gov. Veterans can also contact the Education Call Center at 888-442-4551 between 7 a.m.-6 p.m. EST, Monday-Friday to speak with a VA education representative.
