Military to Civilian Transition

Event: The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on its new VA Clinic at 419 Steam Plant Rd on Friday, March 1, 2019, 11:00 a.m. and begin seeing patients Monday, March 4, 2019. The facility will include 9,440 net usable square feet for primary care teams, whole health and integrated mental health services in a space more than 9 % larger than originally planned and will house exam rooms, consultation offices and group rooms along with clinical staff and support space. Gallatin and surrounding community Veterans enrolled in VA care currently drive to other Tennessee Valley Healthcare System facilities to be seen. Generally, these include the Murfreesboro or Nashville VA facilities, but some may also be seen at TVHS’s Clarksville, Cookeville or Dover clinics. The Gallatin Clinic will provide services to Veterans in Gallatin and surrounding counties.

Event: Senior leadership from VHA and VBA will be conducting a joint town hall to discuss VA initiatives and answer questions from American Legion members and the Veteran community. Representatives from the Nashville Regional Benefits Office will be available to assist Veterans with claim and appeals questions.

We honor the life and service of Army WWII Veteran Vivian "Millie" Bailey. The Millie Bailey Fund, named in her honor, benefits the Running Brook Elementary School in Howard County, Maryland.
