More About the Manchester Regional Office

Reaching Transitioning Servicemembers and Veterans Who Are Homeless

The Manchester RO educates transitioning Servicemembers about VA benefits and services. Our Veterans Service Representative (VSR) conducts bimonthly transition assistance briefings at the Portsmouth, N.H., Naval Shipyard (PNSY). Servicemembers awaiting separation may also schedule personal interviews with VSR personnel. As requested, the VSR will also conduct mobilization and demobilization briefings at state military installations and with Reserve and National Guard units. When we are notified of the death of a Servicemember, our Casualty Assistance Coordinator will personally contact family members and, if needed, visit with them to review benefits information and assist with form completion. To reach and respond to Veterans who are homeless, our RO sends a Homeless Veteran Coordinator to the VA medical center three times a week.
