Veterans Resource Fair

Date and Time: Wednesday, September 19, 2018 | 2:00pm – 6:00pm

Location: Veterans Memorial Home | 4743 Route 155 Port Allegheny, PA 16743

Event: Veterans and their families are invited to a FREE one-stop shop with VA services and a variety of community resources during the Veteran Resource Fair on Wednesday, Septebmer 19th at the Veterans Memorial Home in Port Allegheny, PA.

The event is hosted by the McKean County Community Veteran Engagement Board.

Featured services include:
  • Erie VA Medical Center (VAMC) and McKean VA Clinic health experts, who will be providing free blood pressure screenings and flu shots (if available) for Veterans eligible for VA service;
  • Erie VA Eligibility & Enrollment representatives;
  • Erie VAMC Behavioral Health Clinic staff to provide information regarding mental health services;
  • Erie VAMC Women Veterans Program staff;
  • Representatives from the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Pittsburgh Regional Office to answer questions about benefits and/or claims;
  • McKean County & Community Veteran Service Officers will be on hand to assit Veterans in filing claims;
  • PA CareerLink representatives to support Veteran job seekers and family members who are looking for employment;
  • Vet Center representatives to provide information about readjustment counseling available to combat Veterans;
  • Representatives from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford's Admissions Office to discuss education opportunities and the use of GI-Bill/Veteran's Benefits.

Stand Down

Date and Time: Saturday, September 22, 2018 | 8:00am – 3:00pm

Location: Stage AE | University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240

Event: Stand Down is a day-long services fair for homeless Veterans, including free breakfast and lunch, along with access to 60 health and community service providers. Experts from the Veterans Benefits Administration Pittsburgh VA Regional Office will also be available to offer on-the-spot assistance with individual questions and concerns.
