Mr. Emmett O’Meara was appointed Director on November 26, 2018. He has also served as the Assistant Director of the Los Angeles VA Regional Office. Mr. O'Meara is responsible for administering a range of benefits to the Veterans and their families living in the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles office. Prior to this appointment, Mr. O’Meara served as the Veterans Service Center Manager at the Los Angeles VA Regional Office. Mr. O’Meara has over 17 years of experience in civil and military service.
Jamie Cannon became the Assistant Director in April 2020. In this role, she is responsible for the administration benefits for our Veterans in compensation and Veteran employment. The role requires engagement and collaboration with various stakeholders in the community. Prior to that she was the Veterans Service Center Manager for Los Angeles. Ms. Cannon has over 19 years of experience in the VA.
Rebecca Brenen became the Veterans Service Center Manager in November 2019. In this role, she is responsible for the administration of the compensation program. Prior to this appointment, Rebecca was the Assistant Veterans Service Center Manager at the Buffalo VA Regional Office. Ms. Brenen started her VA career in the Philadelphia Regional Office. She has over 11 years of experience in civil service.
Linda Steffensmeier was appointed Veteran Readiness and Employment Officer (VRE0) in June 2021. Prior to this appointment, she served as the VREO in the St. Paul Regional Office since 2016. Ms. Steffensmeier also served in the VREO capacity in the Wichita and Montgomery Regional Offices. In November 2002, Ms. Steffensmeier started her career with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She served as a Veteran Readiness and Employment Counselor in the St. Paul, St. Petersburg and Houston Regional Offices. Ms. Steffensmeier trains on a national level for VA Central Office in support of new initiatives and changes that impact Veteran Readiness and Employment Services.
Mr. Robinson began his VA career in February 2008 at the Philadelphia Pension Management Center (PMC) as a Veterans Services Representative. He worked in the PMC for 3 years and was promoted to the position of Veterans Claims Examiner. In August 2011, he accepted a position with the Office of Financial Management at VBA Central Office as a Systems and Procedures Analyst. In April 2019, Brandon relocated to Phoenix, AZ to join the Pacific District Office as a Management Analyst. Brandon is a 2018 graduate of VBA’s Leadership Enrichment and Progression Program.
