VA REGIONAL OFFICE OPEN TO PUBLIC
The Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Montgomery Regional Office is open to the public beginning March 22, 2021. The Regional Office is accepting walk-ins for claims assistance, scheduled appointments, and other in-person services. Please be aware that as the Regional Office is in a CDC-designated area of substantial or high transmission, everyone entering the facility is required to wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose. Veterans can continue to get information about benefits or file a claim for benefits by visiting our website at www.va.gov. Veterans with claims specific questions may request information via the Inquiry Routing & Information System (IRIS) or telephone at 1-800-827-1000. VBA benefits and services provided to Veterans, families, and survivors will continue to be delivered throughout the duration of COVID-19 impacts.
The SAVE LIVES Act was signed into law March 24, 2021, expanding the VA’s legal authority to provide COVID-19 vaccines to all Veterans, regardless of their VA health care enrollment status, as well as Veteran’s spouses, caregivers and some beneficiaries.
To better assist Veterans and their families in Alabama, the Birmingham VA Health Care System, Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System and Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center are providing a centralized call center to schedule appointments for COVID-19 vaccines. Vaccinations are by appointment only and subject to supply availability. Please call 1-844-435-0505, Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., to schedule an appointment at the location nearest to you.
