More About the Indianapolis Regional Office

Partnering to End and Prevent Homeless Among Veterans

The Indianapolis RO partners with all Indiana VA Medical Centers’ homeless Veteran teams to make sure homeless Veterans’ claims receive priority processing. In 2010, we reenergized our Homeless claims processes, created more streamlined operating procedures, and dedicated personnel to address the claims of these Veterans. The new, streamlined procedures and dedicated personnel promise to improve benefit delivery to eligible Veterans.

Expanding Employment and Training at the Crane Learning and Employment Center

Our RO partnered with federal, state, and nonprofit entities to develop the Crane Learning and Employment Center (CLEC), a Veteran training and employment program at the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center in southern Indiana. Seventy Veterans are currently employed there, and our goal is to develop 100 job placements. The center has been asked by the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations to expand this concept to other Naval facilities around the country.
