VA Loan Guaranty Service (LGY) is excited to provide the VA Home Loan Overview video presentation for Veterans and mortgage industry partners participating in the VA Home Loan program.
The presentation covers the essential principles of the VA Home Loan program, focusing on empowering Veterans, supporting homeownership, protecting taxpayers, and fulfilling America's pledge to our service members. Participants will gain insights into the program's history, its ongoing evolution, and special initiatives like the Native American Direct Loan (NADL) and Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) programs.

About Training
The Training Team plays a vital role in our achievements by partnering with stakeholders to drive coordinated learning that is strategic, measurable, and effective in advancing our mission, goals, and objectives. Our Training Team mission is as follows:
Offer staff and stakeholders pertinent and practical training programs that enhance performance and efficiency in delivering exceptional service to Veterans and customers.
Create standardized training materials and templates to establish a consistent voice, tone, and style.
Identify, evaluate, and confirm training needs effectively.
Provide support or take the lead in developing new training resources.
Establish content management capabilities for training materials, including oversight of storage and review schedules for life cycle maintenance.
Conduct meaningful and impartial assessments of training effectiveness to enhance training efforts and collect valuable data to drive program decision-making.
Request Training
Requests for training may be submitted directly to Loan Guaranty (LGY) Service through the ServiceNow Consumer Service portal. External users with no ID.me credentials may access the ServiceNow portal on LGY’s Contact Us page. First time users will be prompted to register to obtain access to the portal. Lenders, Servicers, and other users with ID.me credentials may access ServiceNow after signing in to LGY Hub or VALERI . After arriving at the ServiceNow Portal, identify your role under “Categories” then select the “Training Request” tile.

Training is a structured, organized, and synchronized process, which can take the form of a program, course, curriculum, or regular instructional regimen, designed to bridge a knowledge or skill deficiency. As developed training is approved for external stakeholders, it will be posted under the corresponding section below. Links will open within a new tab and some may require a login.
Construction and Valuation
Construction and Valuation training topics may include property eligibility, appraisals, minimum property requirements, Tidewater, reconsiderations of value, Notices of Value, condominium approval, leaseholds, partial releases, and any other subjects related to property valuations.

Loan Administration training topics may include delinquent loan servicing, loss mitigation, foreclosure and property acquisition, claims, appeals, post audits, and any other subjects related to general loan servicing.
Understanding Loss Mitigation Options: A Resource for Veterans with VA-Guaranteed Home Loans
The VA Loan Guaranty Service (LGY) Training Team is excited to announce a new informational video covering loss mitigation options for borrowers. This video guides Veterans on what steps to take should they fall behind on their VA home loan, explains the loss mitigation options available through their mortgage servicer and provides important program and VA contact information.

Native American Direct Loans
The NADL program offers VA-direct loans to help Native American Veterans buy, build, or improve a home on Federal trust land. Training topics may include Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), Veteran eligibility, program guidelines, and any other subjects related to the program.

Specially Adapted Housing
VA provides housing grants for Veterans and service members with certain service-connected disabilities so they can buy or change their home to meet their needs and live more independently. Training topics may include eligibility, the grant process, minimum property requirements, builder requirements, compliance inspector requirements, and any other subjects related to housing adaptations.
Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Builder Training Portal - VA Home Loans
The Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Overview Video covers the requirements for each of the three SAH grant programs including qualifying disabilities, grant amounts, number of uses, how to apply, and what to expect upon approval. Additionally, basic requirements and general information is provided for the Home Improvement and Structural Alterations (HISA) benefit and the Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Independent Living (IL) grant.
