On March 11, 2021, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) launched VRRAP for Veterans who have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Veterans participating in VRRAP can receive education and training for high-demand occupations, which is determined by the Commissioner of Labor Statistics. Veterans will receive up to 12 months of tuition and fees and a monthly housing allowance based on Post-9/11 GI Bill rates. To learn more about VRRAP and how to apply for the program, Veterans can visit www.va.gov. Veterans can also contact the Education Call Center at 888-442-4551 between 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. EST, Monday-Friday to speak with a VA education representative.
LGBTQ+ Outreach Symposium
Outreach, Transition and Economic Development (OTED) will host a virtual LGBTQ+ Outreach Event. This symposium will feature representatives from VBA,VHA and the Minority Veterans of America. The primary focus of this collaborative effort is to focus on outreach and initiatives impacting the LGBTQ+ Veteran community. Guest speakers will educate and empower attendees regarding the LGBTQ+ Veteran community.
