Any Veteran or survivor interested in filing a claim for VA disability compensation, survivor’s pension, veteran readiness and employment services, or needing assistance with an existing VA claim is encouraged to attend. The event is open to the public. The event provides an opportunity for Veterans to meet with VA representatives and receive face-to-face assistance with VA claims and information on VA operations to include The Sergeant First Class (SFC) Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act. VA leadership presentation on March 23, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.

Winston-Salem VA Regional Office Now Validates Downtown Parking Fees for Veteran Visitors

The Winston-Salem VA Regional Office is excited to announce Veterans and their dependents can receive free parking validation for VA appointments or walk-in services with the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) office. To obtain a free parking validation, visitors must park their vehicle at the designated 3rd & Main Street Public Parking Facility, entering through the North Church Street parking entrance ( CLICK HEREto view map) and request a parking validation from the VBA public contact office upon check-in.

VERA Appointment Scheduler

Visitors seeking assistance from the Regional Office Public Contact Team are encouraged to schedule a virtual or in-person appointment on the Visitor Engagement Reporting Application (VERA).

Please go to VERA - Home (force.com) to schedule an appointment. You will receive email confirmation of your appointment.

The Winston-Salem Regional Office continues adherence to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. The CDC issued guidance on community levels and prevention steps by county. Consistent with that guidance, masks are NOT REQUIRED. People with symptoms, a positive test or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should continue to wear a mask.

Veterans may continue to interact with the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) virtually for accessing benefits information online or when filing a claim online. For claim-specific questions call 1-800-827-1000.

Veteran Rapid Retraining Assistance Program (VRRAP)

On March 11, 2021, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) launched VRRAP for Veterans who have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Veterans participating in VRRAP can receive education and training for high-demand occupations, which is determined by the Commissioner of Labor Statistics.  Veterans will receive up to 12 months of tuition and fees and a monthly housing allowance based on Post-9/11 GI Bill rates.  To learn more about VRRAP and how to apply for the program, Veterans can visit www.va.gov.  Veterans can also contact the Education Call Center at 888-442-4551 between 7 a.m.-6 p.m. EST, Monday-Friday to speak with a VA education representative.
