Marty Fury is the Deputy Director of the Office of Field Programs for VA’s National Cemetery Administration in Washington, DC. As Deputy Director, Mr. Fury is responsible for helping oversee the Nation’s 131 National Cemeteries.
Mr. Fury is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who served tours oversees in Iraq. Mr. Fury served as Director at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY, from August 2013 and also served as Director at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Chicago and Rock Island National Cemetery in the Quad Cities, IL.
Christopher Smith began his role as Staff Assistant in March 2019. Mr. Smith is responsible for providing a variety of management services and resources essential to the direction and operation of the Togus VARO and Northeast District Office as they relate to claims processing operations, business lines and support functions. In the absence of the Director, the Staff Assistant is delegated to perform all duties and responsibilities as the Acting Director. Previously, Mr. Smith served as AVSCM at the Togus VARO.
Michael Brawn began his role as VSCM in December 2018. Mr. Brawn is responsible for the overall management of compensation benefits and services to Veterans, their families and dependents in Maine. Mr. Brawn previously worked as a Coach of the Quality Review Team in the Veterans Service Center (VSC), Togus Maine.
Tom Whitney was selected as the AVSCM in May of 2019. Mr. Whitney shares in the responsibility of managing the Veterans Service Center (VSC) divisions operations through a staff of personnel responsible for claims processing, providing information, advice and assistance on all type of VA benefits to Veterans and their dependents and for providing outreach services to stakeholders. Mr. Whitney was previously the Coach of the Quality Review Team as well as a Rating Team in the Veteran Service Center (VSC), Togus Maine.
Jeff Jones began his role as VREO in August 2008. Mr. Jones oversees Maine’s VR&E Division, which has a staff of six and serves about 800 Veterans at any one time.
Tracy Sinclair began her role as SSDC in November 2005. Ms. Sinclair oversees all Administrative, Financial and Human Resource activities of the Togus VA Regional Benefits Office. Ms. Sinclair started her VA career at Togus, Maine in 1991.
