March Events

City of Alameda Veterans Town Hall and Resource Fair

Date & Time: March 15, 2018 | 3:00pm to 5:00pm

Location: 1550 Oak St, Alameda, CA 94501

Event: Join the Mayor of Alameda, Trish Spencer, and the Department of Veteran Affairs for a Veterans town hall meeting where the Mayor and area VA Directors will discuss and respond to your questions. Town hall subjects will include:

  • VA Modernization
  • Choose VA
  • VA Construction and Development on Alameda
  • Healthcare/Mental health
  • Compensation and Pension

The resource fair will follow immediately after the town hall with information tables provided by the VBA, VHA, NCA, and the Oakland Vet Center. A variety of national and regional Veteran Service Organizations will be in attendance to include the American Legion, AMVETS, DAV, CalVet, VFW, and Alameda County.

Expected participants: Servicemembers, Veterans, the citizens of the City of Alameda, and their family members.

Vietnam War Veterans Day Commemoration

Date & Time: March 29, 2018 | 12 Noon

Location: California Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Capitol Park, 15 Street and Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95814

Event: Join us on the Vietnam war Veterans Day to thank and honor all Veterans who served during the Vietnam War. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 500, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the California Department of Veterans Affairs cordially invite you to attend as we recognize all Vietnam Veterans and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

All Vietnam Veterans are invited to attend and receive a commemorative lapel pin in honor of their service. See the event flyer for more information.

Placer Veterans Stand Down

Date & Time: May 15-17 2018 | 8:00am to 4:00pm Daily

Location: Placer County Fairgrounds, 800 All American City Blvd., Roseville, CA

Event: Open and FREE to all Veterans and their family members. Come for a meals, haircuts, showers, dental and medical services, legal and child support services, clothing and personal care supplies, health and human services assistance, as well as pet services. A VA benefits counselor will be on location during the hiring fair to answer VA benefits questions; assist with eBenefits registration, and filing electronic claims.
