Women Veteran's Program
A Women Veterans Coordinator (WVC) is available at the Waco Regional Office to arrange counseling for female or male veterans who contact the regional office regarding sexual trauma or sexual harassment while on active duty. The WVC also makes presentations to women veterans organizations and other groups concerning VA benefits and services available to women veterans.Former Prisoners of War Initiative
To increase awareness and use of VA benefits and services for former Prisoners Of War POW) and their dependents, Outreach Meetings are held at various locations throughout the Waco Regional Office's jurisdiction. The POW Coordinator for the Waco Regional Office organizes the events and provides an in-depth briefing on VA benefits for former POWs. An information packet is available which includes a guide to VA disability and death benefits and medical services.Homeless Veterans Initiative
VA employees serve on homeless coalitions, participate in stand-downs and provide homeless shelters and agencies with VA benefits information and assistance. Also, a Veterans Service Representative is assigned full-time to the Dallas VA Medical Center in support of the Comprehensive Homeless ProgramMinority Veterans Program
To encourage awareness and use of VA benefits, the Minority Veterans Program Coordinator (MVPC) for the Waco Regional Office makes presentations to minority veterans groups and other organizations. VA benefits information and claims assistance are provided at "Town Hall" meetings which are held at various locations throughout the Waco Regional Office's area of jurisdiction.
