Shelia Jackson

Director: Shelia Jackson

Sheila Jackson was appointed as the Director of the Reno VA Regional Office in June 2015. Ms. Jackson is responsible and accountable for administering federal benefits to approximately 233,300 Veterans and their families living in Nevada and the California Counties of Alpine, Lassen, Modoc and Mono. These services total approximately $48.3 million in annual compensation, pension, and survivor benefit payments. An additional $6.3 million is spent in the operation of the office. The Reno VA Regional Office also includes a large satellite office in Las Vegas.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Jackson served as the Assistant Director of the Los Angeles VA Regional Office since June 2012. She is a US Army Veteran with 20 years of service.

 

Rashetta D. Smith

Veterans Service Center Manager: Rashetta D. Smith

Rashetta Smith was appointed Veterans Service Center Manager for the Reno Regional Office in April 2014. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Smith was a Coach at the Oakland, CA Regional Office from August 2005 to April 2014. Ms. Smith is an alumni from UC Berkley and holds a Master's Degree in Management.

 

Leah Augustine-Veal

Vocational Rehabilitation Officer: Leah Augustine-Veal

Leah Augustine-Veal was promoted to this position in November 2016. She oversees the daily operations of the VR&E division. Leah is a native of New Orleans La who studied rehabilitation counseling at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Prior to her appointment, she served as a vocational rehabilitation counselor with the Waco Regional office and as a police officer with the United States Postal Inspection Service.
