William Streitberger was appointed Director of the Portland and Anchorage Regional Offices in May 2016. As Director, Mr. Streitberger is responsible for administering roughly $111,000,000 per month in compensation and pension benefits to approximately 89,500 Veterans and their dependents living in the states of Oregon and Alaska. He is also responsible for providing Vocational Rehabilitation Services, placement assistance and Independent Living Services to the disabled Veteran population of Alaska, Oregon, and 5 counties in Southwest Washington. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Streitberger was the Director of the Hartford Regional Office from December 2013 to May 2016. He was also previously the Deputy Director for the VBA Operations Center, where he was responsible for leading the business-operating model to support the implementation and sustainment of VBA Transformation Initiatives effecting People, Process, and Technology.
Before starting his VA career in 2002 as an Employment Coordinator at the Chicago VA Regional Office, Mr. Streitberger served in the Navy from 1986 to 1995. He was recognized as the Sailor of the Year in 1990 at the Naval Security Group in San Vito, Italy, and as Recruiter of the Year in 1992 at the Naval Recruiting District in Chicago.
Carol Roane was appointed to her current position as Assistant Director for the Portland and Anchorage VA Regional Offices in May 2016. As Assistant Director, Ms. Roane provides operational oversight for all operational aspects within the Anchorage Veterans Service Center and Vocational Rehabilitation divisions, as well as within the Support Services Division and Human Resources in Portland and Anchorage. Ms. Roane began her VA career in August 2001 when she accepted a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor position at the Portland VA Regional Office. She was selected as the Assistant Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (VR&E) Officer for the Louisville VA Regional Office in July 2005 and promoted to the VR&E Officer in the same office in December 2006. In September 2008, she was appointed as the Assistant Director of Program/Project Management in VA Central Office, VR&E Service. She completed the Assistant Director Development Program in 2009 and was appointed to her previous position as Assistant Director for the Philadelphia VA Regional Office in March 2011.
Ms. Roane completed her Bachelor of Science in English and Communications through Dallas Baptist University before entering Air Force Officer Training School in San Antonio, Texas. She was commissioned as an Air Force Officer and served several assignments as a Squadron Section Commander, Executive Officer, and Information Management Officer while on active duty from 1985 to 1992.
Michael Rohrbach was appointed as Assistant Director for the Portland and Anchorage Regional Offices in December 2016. As Assistant Director, Mr. Rohrbach provides operational oversight for all operational aspects within the Portland Veterans Service Center and Vocational Rehabilitation divisions. Prior to his current position, Mr. Rohrbach held the position of Executive Management Officer for the VBA North Atlantic District. In that role, Mr. Rohrbach provided operational oversight, direction, and leadership in the efficient and effective delivery of benefits and services across 16 VBA Regional Offices and the Baltimore Human Resource Center.
Mr. Michael Rohrbach is a graduate from the University Of South Florida’s School Of Business. Prior to attending the University of South Florida, Mr. Rohrbach served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps.
Kevin Kalama took this position in January 2006. He is responsible for administering VA’s Compensation program for Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors in Oregon. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Kalama served as the Veterans Service Center Manager at the Honolulu RO. He began his VA career in 1992 in California with the Oakland and Los Angeles ROs.
Chris Olson took this position in 2005. He is responsible for administrating a VA’s VR&E program for Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors in Oregon and five counties in southwest Washington. Prior to this assignment, he was Assistant VR&E Officer at the Portland RO. He began his VA career in 1994 at the Oakland Regional Office.
