With summer around the corner, homeowners are bracing themselves for increased utility bills. Veterans can use a VA home loan to improve the efficiency of their home.

Location: VA Central Iowa Health Care System, building 4, 2nd floor auditorium, 3600 30th St, Des Moines, Iowa.
VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS) and the Des Moines Regional Office are hosting a collaborative town hall for Veterans, family members, survivors and the public. With a shared responsibility to serve Central Iowa Veterans, leadership from VACIHCS, Des Moines Regional Office, Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs, Iowa Commission of Veterans Affairs, and the Iowa Veterans Council will share updates and later answer to feedback and suggestions. There will also be a claims clinic from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the main lobby.
Expected Participants: All members of the public, including Congressional stakeholders, Veterans Service Organizations, state and local governmental and non-governmental organizations, and other community partners. Media is invited to attend.
Today we honor James Gleason, who survived a premature birth to serve the United States during WWII. He was 90 when he died at his Clearwater, FL home last week.
Teaching Veterans the art of beekeeping provides them with useful skills and helps heal mental scars with a form of 'agritherapy'.
VA ID cards are coming in 2017 and until then, Veterans can print a "Veteran Proof of Service Letter" from their eBenefits account.
