Location: VA Central Iowa Health Care System, building 4, 2nd floor auditorium, 3600 30th St, Des Moines, Iowa.
VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS) and the Des Moines Regional Office are hosting a collaborative town hall for Veterans, family members, survivors and the public. With a shared responsibility to serve Central Iowa Veterans, leadership from VACIHCS, Des Moines Regional Office, Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs, Iowa Commission of Veterans Affairs, and the Iowa Veterans Council will share updates and later answer to feedback and suggestions. There will also be a claims clinic from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the main lobby.
Expected Participants: All members of the public, including Congressional stakeholders, Veterans Service Organizations, state and local governmental and non-governmental organizations, and other community partners. Media is invited to attend.

Joseph Bathanti has been appointed the Charles George VA Medical Center Writer-in-Residence. He'll help Veterans process their PTSD through writing poetry.
During an Amarillo VA luncheon, Veterans formed a support group and shared their personal stories about being a former POW.
U.S. Navy Veteran and swimmer, Tom Murry, created the AQUA VETS low-impact swim exercise program at the Tupelo Aquatic Center for Veterans.
