Help for Homeless Veterans
In addition to VA benefits for all Veterans, programs that support the specific needs of homeless Veterans may be available.

Location: VA Central Iowa Health Care System, building 4, 2nd floor Conference Room, 3600 30th St, Des Moines, Iowa.
VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS) and the Des Moines Regional Office are teaming up with Central Iowa MyVA Community Members to host the first ever collaborative town hall for Veterans, family members, survivors and the public. With a shared responsibility to serve Central Iowa Veterans, leadership from VACIHCS, Des Moines Regional Office, Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs, Iowa Commission of Veterans Affairs, and the Iowa Veterans Council will share updates, success stories and later answer to feedback and suggestions. To recognize their sacrifices and honor their service, several Veterans have been asked to share a small part of their stories. There will also be a claims clinic from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the main lobby.
Expected Participants: All members of the public, including Congressional stakeholders, Veterans Service Organizations, state and local governmental and non-governmental organizations, and other community partners. Media is invited to attend.
VA is partnering with the Bob Woodruff Foundation to further advance VA’s outreach to injured Servicemembers, Veterans and their families
Female veterans at the Harlem Vet Center will be collaborating with artists as part of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Veterans’ Affairs initiative to bring art out of museums and into city government.
