More About the Anchorage Regional Office

Leading in Transition Services for Servicemembers from All Branches

We provide transition services to active duty members of the Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force, and Coast Guard and to Reserve and National Guard members at military installations in Alaska. We conduct more than 125 VA benefits briefings and claims preparation seminars annually as part of military Transition Assistance Programs (TAP) to Servicemembers and family members assigned to Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kodiak, Sitka, Juneau, Valdez, and Ketchikan. Other outreach involves participation in National Guard and Reserve Yellow Ribbon events and Retiree appreciation days.

Battling Homelessness Among Veterans Throughout Alaska

We strive to proactively reach Veterans who are homeless or at risk for homelessness. The primary and alternate Homeless Veteran Outreach Coordinators (HVOCs) work together to meet the needs of this population of Veterans. We conduct monthly briefings at the VA Domiciliary, coordinate with the Justice Veterans Outreach Coordinator in the Alaska VA Health Care System to serve Veterans in prison, and participate in Homeless Stand Downs.
