Director: Cesar Romero
Cesar Romero was appointed as Director of the Albuquerque Regional Office (RO), effective May 2021. In his role as Director, Cesar is responsible for over 100 full-time employees and administering approximately $424 million in compensation benefits to over 121,000 Veterans and their dependents in New Mexico. Prior to his appointment, Cesar served as the Assistant Director for the Seattle RO. Cesar served in the Marine Corps from 1999-2006. To meet with Cesar, please email dir.vbaalb@va.gov
Veterans Service Center Manager: Timothy Love
Timothy Love took this position in July, 2014. Before coming to Albuquerque, he served at the Salt Lake City Regional Office. He began his VA career in February, 2005 in Salt Lake City, where he first was a Rating Veterans Service Representative and then was promoted to a supervisor. Tim retired from the Army as a First Sergeant after a 20 year career.
Veteran Readiness and Employment Officer: Corliss De La Garza
Corliss De La Garza took this position in June 2019. Before coming to Albuquerque, she was the Veteran Readiness and Employment Officer St. Louis. Mrs. De La Garza began her VA career in January 2006 as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and was later promoted to Officer. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Change Management Agent/Public Affairs Officer: Mike Nelson
Mike Nelson took this position in 2022. Mike is a 1993 graduate from the United States Air Force Academy and retired Lieutenant Colonel. Mike has been with the VA since October 2016 serving as both a Veterans Service Representative and a Rating Veterans Service Representative at the Albuquerque Regional Office.
