VBA’s Transformation is a game-changer in how we serve our Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors; engage with our employees; and partner with our Stakeholders. We are working hard to gain the renewed trust and confidence of our Veterans. By the end of 2015, VBA will have successfully accomplished our Transformation.
VA will process all claims in less than 125 days with 98 percent quality.
Servicemembers and Veterans will file claims electronically through eBenefits.
Status of claims will be available on the eBenefits website with clients electronically notified by email, if they desire, about the progress of their claim or benefit.
VA will receive and process award letters and benefit payments electronically.
Veteran Service Organizations (VSO), physicians and private attorneys will be able to represent their clients electronically through the Stakeholder Enterprise Portal (SEP).
VBA’s work force will review, process and approve disability, pension, fiduciary, education, vocational rehabilitation, home loans and insurance claims electronically.
VBA’s employees will receive work assignments systematically using Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS) Work Management.
They will evaluate disability claims using electronic information provided through Integrated Electronic Health Records (iEHR), electronic Disability Benefits questionnaires (DBQs), and telehealth records.
Cross-functional teams will receive work in a priority sequence.
The goal is to ensure the employee, with the right expertise, receives and completes the work efficiently and with maximum accuracy.
VBA’s Transformation Plan and the implementation of initiatives is critical to VBA’s success in improving the timeliness and accuracy of the disability claims process. VBA will continue to vigorously pursue business process and technology-centered improvements designed to eliminate the disability claims backlog and achieve the goal of processing all claims within 125 days with 98 percent quality by the end of 2015.
